Senior Parent Letter

Dear Parents/Guardians of ABRHS Seniors,

In a few short months the anticipation and excitement that surrounds graduation will be upon you and your son or daughter. To honor our graduates, the Acton-Boxborough Community has once again been busy planning for Project Graduation 2017, our 28th year!

Project Graduation, an all night, alcohol and drug-free party exclusively for ABRHS graduating seniors is a night to honor our graduates in a safe environment. The event is held at ABRHS where local artists and set designers will have completely transformed the school into a magical surprise theme. The evening is filled with live entertainment, food of all kinds, games, a casino, a DJ, comedians, a hypnotist and much, much more. Prizes and scholarships are also awarded during the event.

One of the primary goals of Project Graduation is to provide new grads with a safe, sober and spectacular night. Parents are encouraged to talk with seniors this graduation season about safety issues, such as, underage drinking and impaired driving. We also strongly suggest those coming to Project Graduation not drive themselves. Instead, please consider dropping off and picking up your grads to ensure their safety on this very special night.

Project Graduation takes place starting at 9:30 pm on June 2 and runs through Saturday morning June 3 at 5:00am. Seniors are welcome to check-in between 9:30-11:30pm and will not be allowed to leave the building until 5:00am without prior notification from parents or guardians. Chaperones will help run the event smoothly including ensuring that all the seniors are safely enjoying themselves and stay in the building until 5am. Parents of our graduates can get a good night's sleep knowing that their graduates are in a safe and fun environment.

As has been tradition at AB, senior parents are never asked to volunteer to work on Project Graduation because of the many activities seniors and their families are involved in. You as parents (but not your senior) are welcome to join the community for a sneak preview of our transformed high school between 8:00 and 9:00pm on June 2.

Project Graduation is a totally self-supporting event. The funding comes from outside the school. The primary fundraising comes from parent donations, ticket sales (seniors pay only $20.00), business donations and fundraisers at Roche Bros. and various local restaurants. We want to take this opportunity to thank you for any donations made to this wonderful event in past years and would be very appreciative if you would consider a donation this year. Every donation helps ensure that this terrific event will continue for years to come.

Project Graduation is one of those traditions that make this community special. Thank you for supporting this magical event for your senior!

Sincerely,

Project Graduation Chair

Fundraiser

Every spring, Roche Bros. Fundraiser holds a fundraiser for Project Graduation.  Shop at Roche Bros. on that day from 4:00-7:00 pm and the store will donate 5% of all sales receipts to Project Graduation. This includes GIFT CARDS sold during that time AND PRE-ORDERED BEFORE THE EVENT. If you pre-order, we will mail the cards to you after the fundraising event.

It’s easy and doesn’t cost you any more money than you would normally spend, but it helps pay for Project Graduation!

For gift cards, please click  pre-order to access the Roche Bros. form online.

Alternatively, print out the Project Graduation Donation/Volunteer/Fundraising Form and send it in.
